What should I do?

I’m 15 atm and my periods are wild and inconsistent. My mom offered the option of taking a birth control shot to stop it. I’ve never taken birth control before and I’m worried about there being side effects. Like some people say there are a lot and some people say there aren’t many. What should I do? Do you think it’s worth it?

I wouldn’t get depo. There are better options. 3 close friends of mine got depo and each gained 30+ pounds. One gained 60! That’s not to mention all the other side effects they had. I’ve taken several different pills, had 2 IUDS, and been on the patch and never had severe side effects (the ones I did have were mild and lasted a month or so) and I never gained more than 2#s. The IUD is a good option but not sure if you’re a candidate. Another easier one is the patch. Just don’t get depo, lol!

All birth control has side effects, get on the pill, patch or nuvaring to regulate it. Some people bleed for weeks/months while on the shot so you may experience that or constant spotting which is also annoying🤷🏻‍♀️. I’ve never been on the shot but I’d say to choose something else

Shes referring to depo. Yes there are side effects to every BC some cause positive side effects though. But girly, do not get the depo shot it is terrible for your body. My doctor hates it, and highly recommends never to get it. So many women including myself bled the entire time we were on it, also including the other side effects that comes along with it. You have other options you can choose from, I personally like the pill as my periods were crazy before and irregular now I have no periods or just light ones.
