Would you send your 3 month old to daycare?

I feel like he will end up being a rough kid if he has to deal with being in such an environment from a young age.

Yes, I had to when he was 3 months old. We don’t have any family near us to watch him and we need both incomes. He is now 13 months old and is super social and loves anyone and everyone! It was so hard to put him in so young, but it actually turned out great. He loves going there and they do a lot of activities (it’s a Montessori daycare/preschool).

My son’s been in daycare since 3 months. He’s now 2 years. I don’t know what you mean by “rough kid” but mine loves going to play with his friends and he learns a ton and he’s a very patient, gentle kid.

It's good for social interaction. I put my kid in daycare for a few hours a day 2 times a week a year before kindergarten just so she could be around kids her own age and get the social interaction before she started real school.

I worked in daycares for 10 years and absolutely refuse to put our daughter in one. I was with those kids more often than their parents were. It was so sad to me.

Do your research and pick a recommended one. There is one in my town where the kids are treated like family and it would be my top choice we needed a daycare. I also have a close bond with the in home daycare I went to as a kid and she still watches kids so that would have been an option for us as well. I plan to put my 14 month old into 3 year old preschool.

You have to weigh out your pros and cons here and do what best suits you and your family. The thought of daycare scares me until my daughter could speak for herself. We’re lucky and have tons of family so we don’t have to use daycare. My daughter has lots of cousins her age so she gets to interact with other children a lot. It’s the best of both worlds. The circumstances may be different for you. My friends children who are not in daycare seem to be more “sheltered” if that makes sense. My friends children who are in daycare aren’t rough kids but they do seem tougher than ones who are not. They seem to develop quicker being around and interacting with other children their age. They seem to get sick more often than kids who are not in daycare because there are always those parents who will send their sick child to daycare.

I couldn’t do it. It made me want to cry every time I considered it. At the time I didn’t make much more than the cost of daycare so it would have been like I work to not take care of my own baby. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with him.

People do what works best for them. I hope I don’t have to put my baby in daycare that young, but some people have to and that’s okay. It doesn’t make them have to be tougher kids. They are in a room with kids their own ages. So infants are just in cribs & swings where the older kids are all in completely separate rooms monitored by different people. My main concern with daycare at that young of an age is germs, sharing cribs & swings, and not being old enough for all of the vaccines they need yet so they are exposed to a lot.

Unfortunately I have to bring baby boy to a learning center. But he has been doing great. I love his teachers! They send me updates throughout the day on this app called Beightwheel. It is awesome. Of course I would love to be home with him but i can’t right now. Plus, he meets so many people, from other babies, to parents, to teachers.
