Did you gain weight after starting birth control?

So I have been thinking lately about starting birth control but I petrified of gaining weight. I just wanna not get pregnant and not gain weight. If you have any advice about any type of birth control please please comment. I just wanna try and learn more about it without going to my doctor.

I was on a birth control for years and it ended up building in my system and making me really sick - I’ve noticed dr’s just think BC is this great thing and write off the side effects. Just remember you need to do what’s right for you, but pills can really mess with your physical and mental health. Keep track of everything and if things start going south, don’t be afraid to try other forms and ask for help! I wish someone had put that on my radar when I made my decision - I would have decided the same, but I would have known what was causing my problems sooner

I've never gained weight from birth control. Only gain cause I'm a lazy pos 😂 Haven't seen the the inside of a gym in 6 years

Most women gain weight on BC because their appetite increases due to hormonal changes. I was on the patch for 5 months with no weight gain, ACTUALLY the patch suppressed my appetite a lot because the amount of estrogen it gave me leveled out my hormones well since I have PCOS. Every woman is different BUT I hear the worst stories of the Depo shot. I've seen many of my friends gain weight from that. The pill, not so much.

Every birth control effects everyone differently. There’s no garentiy that you will or will not gain weight. Birth control comes with all sort of side effects. 
Weight gain on birth control is still better then weight gain with a pregnancy. 
But there are hundreds of birth control options you and your doctor can choose which one would be best for you and even that comes with trial and error, I tried many before deciding to use a non hormonal iud

Any birth control had me gain a little weight. I was on 4 different kinds in that past 6 years and for the past 6 years I had slowly gained 15 pounds (you couldn’t tell) as soon as I got off of it I dropped 10 pounds within a week (you couldn’t tell the difference)
