What does everyone think of this name?

We recently found out we are expecting, we don’t know the gender yet as I’m only 5 weeks 3 days, but we have been talking names!

Hubby suggested a boy name from a book series he really likes. The name is Vaelin (Vail-en) I really like it but have been thinking of an alternate spelling because I kinda feel that the original spelling is a little feminine. We came up with Vaelen but I’m not sure how I feel about that either. I was also thinking Valen (that’s how I assumed it was spelled before hubby told me) but I worry it would be mispronounced. What do you ladies think? Do you like the name? If so which spelling do you like better? Or could you suggest one?
