At 3pm on Nov. 12th, I thought, “what the heck? I’ll take a test.” We have been on an “If it happens it happens” thing after just getting married on Sept 29th in South Africa.

I left the test on the counter and completely forgot about it! You see, I have a 19 year old and am 40 years old. I guess naively I thought I was probably all dried up by now! That was fast!

I put the test in a gift box with tissue paper and wrapped the outside.

When my husband got home he did his usual “man” routine, sat on the couch, moved the box (as it was in his way of the remote and foot prop)

I’m like, “that’s for you weirdo! I just got you something simple...”

Now...how to snap pictures without my very curious guy wondering why if it’s just “something simple?”

Baby Kotzé was just the size of a tomato seed. Daddy is happy!

As I’m a redhead born with fire orange hair, he says if the baby is born with the same, he’s going to call it his little “tomato seed”
