GBS testing, did your doctor swab you or were you instructed to do it yourself?

I was instructed to swab myself for GBS at my last appointment. I found it pretty odd that they would make me do it myself. Pretty awkward reaching around and I'm carrying small, I can only imagine a larger woman trying to accomplish that.

I've never heard of someone other than the dr doing it and I would be afraid of not doing it properly and getting a false neg.

I was given a choice - they would do it for me if I didn’t feel 100% comfortable doing it myself. The instructions were simple and it was very easy to do, so I elected to do it myself.

Did mine today. They gave me the option to swab myself in the bathroom when I did my urine sample or have the doctor do it in the exam room. 
I just did it myself because then I wouldn’t have to be undressed in the exam room. 
But then afterwards they asked if I wanted to be checked for dilation, so still ended up with my pants off, lol.

I was kind of lucky as they picked it up in a urine sample, but if it was the swab route the doctor would of done it

For my daughter I swabbed myself, I haven't had one done this pregnancy.

My first I had the option. This time around it’s a different doctor/facility and they did it.

For my son I was asked to swan myself vaginally... I don’t remember having any problems... I haven’t done it for this one yet but again I don’t foresee any problems when I have to
