UPDATE: He took the longest shower ever and my hands were super clammy by the time he got out. 🤣 I had put the box peeking out from behind a book so that it wasn’t immediately obvious when he walked in. However, he didn’t notice it so I made small talk for a little bit, him commenting and asking why my hands were so cold 😂.

Eventually I pointed the box out and he’s all like, “is it chocolates? A perfume?”... Slowly, he finally opens it and starts laughing and so do I (you know, that nervous but happy laughter). We held on to each other for a good 2 minutes and the first thing he did was ask if I was okay and if I was nervous (it’s my first, his third) and then we got into specifics (when did I find out, next steps, etc.).

I was afraid he might react differently, since I know he’s been super stressed lately, but he took it so well and I’m so excited for our first appointment and to eventually break the news to everyone (now I hope his kids take it well too... it’s been the two of them only for so long and now we’re bringing a 3rd sibling into the mix! 😬)
