How long should I wait?

Question

I went to the doctor today because I was 5 weeks pregnant and bleeding with bad cramps. They did an ultrasound and didn't see anything so they said it was most likely a failed pregnancy. I forgot to ask the doctor how long my husband and I should wait to try to conceive again after a miscarriage. Does anyone know? Thanks.

First, I’m so sorry this is happening to you. But second, five weeks is too early to see anything in a successful pregnancy. I’d wait a week and take a another pregnancy test before concluding this is a loss. You never know. And third, you guys should be able to try again right away. I think you only have to wait if you have a D&C.

So sorry! 🙏🏻 I actually had a MC (chemical pregnancy) last month at 5weeks and DR told me to wait a month until trying again. Waiting for AF this week and hoping to be back to normal so we can try again. Good luck!
