Most of the things people think are cultural appropriation nowadays is bs. As someone mixed with Native American, I could care less if you hung a dream catcher in your room. You decorate your room how you want to no matter what anybody else says.

I am full Navajo. My people don’t make dream catchers but I know that the tribes who do make these dream catchers hold them sacred so if you feel the need to put a dream catcher above your bed then I agree with the lady who said buy directly from a Native craftsman/woman. Im native and personally the only dream catcher I hung above my bed was when I made one myself when I was still in high school. For my people it only works if it’s handmade and have to really believe in it. It was considered as a sacred item. It wasn’t used as a “decoration” lol if you want one then go buy it and do whatever you want with it lmaoo it’s okay 😂

Some of the comments on here are really thoughtless and insensitive. It was a valid question and really made me think about where I stood on it. If you care about whether it is appropriation or not, please only pay attention to those people of Native American descent as their voices should be the loudest.

Can people just stop with culture appreciation. Like there are going to be products that certain races from certain regions made, but that doesnt mean its not okay to use it if youre apart of other races. If you want a dream catcher get yourself a dream catcher.
