The discernment of spirits is being able to differentiate between the thoughts in your head and who are the people around. There are three different spirits speaking when you’re thinking , you have the Holy Spirit, your spirit and (not that you have an evil spirit in you but a voice of the enemy)satan. For example, you’re wondering if you done something wrong and you can’t tell if it’s the Holy Spirit telling you it’s wrong, or the enemy deceiving you or even your own spirit confusing you as well. Jesus could discern between who was who, Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Good for you, Simon son of John!” answered Jesus. “For this truth did not come to you from any human being, but it was given to you directly by my Father in heaven.” When Jesus told his disciples that he was going to die, “Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “God forbid it, Lord!” he said. “That must never happen to you!”,“But Jesus turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” Do you ever have a bad feeling about someone? You might not like them at first or when you’re around them, the atmosphere is off? then something happens and you were right about that person. That is the discernment of spirits. We all remember Judas right? “During the meal Jesus said, “I tell you, one of you will betray me.”“Judas, the traitor, spoke up. “Surely, Teacher, you don't mean me?” he asked. Jesus answered, “So you say.” There’s more to learn about this topic but this is just the basics. It’s very important to have the discernment of spirits as child of God. Pray and ask God for it or even more of it.
