So I thought I’d update because I found something out!

I went to my parents house yesterday and the baby was crawling around the kitchen saying “ganda” over and over and pointing at the fridge but we just couldn’t figure out what he was getting at. I went back to their house today to pick the baby up after he stayed the night and again he was doing he same thing and had apparently been doing it non stop all morning. I picked him up to look in the fridge and realised he was pointing at the cabinet that sits just above and behind the fridge so I got up on a chair and pulled everything down so he could see it all. He practically lunged out of my mums arms toward an old bear shaped biscuit barrel shouting “ganda ganda!!” and my mum said that it had belonged to my late grandfather, whom my son is named after. The biscuit barrel also gets called the same name- my grandma bought it for him because the bear has a name tag saying my grandfathers name. I say to the baby “hey this was your grandads!” and he squeals “Yeah! Gandad!!” still trying to grab the bear. My mum put him on the floor and I brought the barrel down to his level so he could see it properly and he gave it a big hug saying “awww gandad” and my Mum just bursts out crying. She joins in hugging the bear and everything and then gets up to go look at the calendar. I asked if she was ok and she just smiled and said “17 years today since your grandad passed away”. I was absolutely covered with goosebumps! We dug some old photos out and the baby looks so similar to how he did at this age too.

So yeah, now I’m not sure what to think! I’ll still be saying hello whenever I feel like someone is there. It feels kinda nice to think that my grandad is still checking up on his little Curly Locks after all these years ❤️

I think I live with a ghost. I felt some kind of... energy, for lack of a better word, when we moved in a little over a year ago and ever so often have had little “signals” or happenings since then but nothing major. This week however, both my boyfriend and I have been a bit spooked. Two days ago the baby monitor started beeping as if the microphone end has been switched off and would continue to do so just long enough for me to go to his bedroom, and then it’d stop, only to start again when I got back downstairs- it did the same thing all day and has been going on again today. Yesterday I lost my car keys- we looked EVERYWHERE and checked the obvious places several times, only for them to show up right in the middle of the sofa, ON TOP of a pile of stuff I put there just a minute before. Today, me and my fella are sitting in the lounge watching tv when we both looked suddenly at the glass dividing doors between the lounge and dining room, only to see a tall shadow glide past and at the same time hear a creaking noise that sounded like the floor board near the other/main doorway into that room. I asked if it was just me who noticed that and he said definitely not so we went to check and obviously there’s nothing there. I’m standing in the hallway, just outside of the main doorway into the lounge, when I feel a huge shiver that took my breath away, and I instantly remember all of the times that the baby has been sitting in the kitchen at the end of this hallway pointing at this exact spot and laughing and waving, all of the times this dining room door has blown open by itself, all of the times I’ve found random items (like an odd sock or a spoon or a bar of soap) on the floor right here.

I know that the lady who owned this house previously died here, and I think I remember being told when we viewed the place that the dining room had been turned into a bedroom for her as she couldn’t walk the stairs anymore. There’s been a tonne of other weird things happen in this room too like papers moving around and stuff going totally missing or appearing in there when it’s been missing for weeks.

I’m not scared as such, she seems friendly and the baby likes her it seems! So we’ve taken to saying “hello Heidi” whenever something a little spooky happens in the hope that she still feels welcome in her home. I know it might sound silly.
