To start off-my step dad already has a colonoscopy set up for next week but in the meantime I’m worried sick about him, so I’m looking for stories from people who have been or knows someone who has been through personal experiences.

Within the last 3 days my step dad started getting very very bad pain in his anus, he originally thought it was a hemorrhoid (he’s never had one) but he bleeds when he does #2 but he also said he bleeds from his butt even when he isn’t going to the restroom, he has been using hemorrhoid medicine but it doesn’t seem to be working at all. He also has a lump on the outside between his balls and anus that leaks puss. He is in tons of pain but he doesn’t seem to be having any stomach issues.

Does this sound like it is going to be something very bad? He is 48 and is usually very strong but he seems concerned and it makes me sad.
