Root Canal Vs Extractions!

Soo tonight I realized that a filling is falling apart and long story short will probably, in my opinion, end up needing either a root canal or an extraction. But here is the thing; I have extreme dental anxiety and anxiety in general, so having to do new things scare me. I was talking to my dad and he says that he thinks a root canal is the better option bc it will preserve my tooth but also thinks it might be better to do an extraction so that it can just be over and done with, seeing that with a root canal, there is a chance that it could be reinfected or redamaged. I am thinking of asking for an extraction regardless bc of how anxious I am about a root canal but would love to hear other’s opinions!
