How much money do you save every check?

My SO and I are currently arguing about how much we should save every paycheck. I think we should be saving $100 every check, he says $20.

If you can afford to save $100 that month, you should do it. If you can save more, do that. If you can’t swing much that month, $20 is good

I say there is not right set a mount for us t depends on the month and what is going on . My husband makes good money but nov threw Dec is not a money saving months for us 😂between holidays and my youngest bday is nov 15 An my oldest is dec 20th SoOo it varies by month and what's going on ect .

You should save as much as possible...if you can save 100 then do it. Why waste 80 on unnecessary BS when you could be saving it and use it for something useful in the future. I think your husband just is not good with money...20 per check is almost zero savings

Save as much as you're able to! It will put you in a much better position when you have an emergency or unexpected expense or lose a job. The advice from financial planners is to have 3-6 months of living expenses in savings. Obviously it takes time to build that up, but will make you much more financially secure.
I'm not sure what your definition of "savings" is. I have 8% of my paycheck go to a 401k retirement savings account and my employer contributes another 4%. I have I think 4% going to a health savings account and 3% going to an education savings account for my daughter. Other than that, I just try to stay cash neutral (not use my savings but I'm not focussed on building up my savings account either) as I have a good amount saved up. So if I do have to take money out one month, I'll replenish it the next. 
I guess the point is, figure out your goals for savings (what do you want/need to save for) and then figure out how much you're able to put towards each.

Right now we are living off of my husbands income while all mine goes into savings. It was reversed for the last 7 years. I like that we can live off of one of our salaries though.

Changes every check. I basically empty my bank account the night before my direct deposit, anything I didn’t use gets put into savings. Sometimes it’s like 300, sometimes it’s less than 100, and with Christmas coming there might be a week or 2 where nothing gets saved. But I’m fortunate enough to know I can pay all my bills with that one paycheck coming in, not everyone has that luxury.

first make sure you have goals. is this a retirement savings is it an emergency fund.
i personally have separate savings accounts and save ten to twenty percent of my income each month in both
