Thanksgiving drama!
So at thanksgiving my cousin and my aunt were fighting because my cousin is always smoking cigarettes but my aunt can’t stand it, and tells her she isn’t allowed to smoke around her or when she’s with her. My cousin argued back saying that she is an adult and no longer has to listen to her (my cousin is 28 and my aunt is 53). The rest of the night it was so awkward because I feel like if my mom told me not to do something around her no matter what I would listen just because she’s still my mom. I feel like some people lose respect for their parents as they get older, as long as requests are reasonable and feasible there shouldn’t be a reason not to respect my moms wishes. What do you guys think? Do you think my cousin was wrong for not respecting my aunts wishes? Or do you think my aunt has no right telling her what to do?
