Animal control?

Lol I’m sorry I’m a New Yorker and I have no experience with this. I didn’t even know bats reside in the city. So I call animal control for this? One is next to my aunts apartment door. How easily do they startle?

I live in buffalo ny, and for us bats love the attic during the winter and once in a while a baby hides in the basement or upstairs bathroom cracks. All it takes to remove them is a bright light(it somewhat calms them down) and screens like window screens or gloves to grab them with bright lights to catch and safely remove them. Yes you can call animal control and they will take all the hard work out

I always left them alone and they moved on by twilight that night. 
It's not good for them to be out during daylight hours, so I figured it was temporarily sheltering. 
We'd stay away, and monitor pets if they went outside where the bat was resting.
