Where did you install your car seat?

Is it safe to install the car seat on the passenger side (back seat) of the car? We had an infant car seat installed in the middle and now my son is 8 months and over 20 pounds so I installed his new convertible car seat on the passenger side so i can still use a mirror to see him but it’s easier for me to get him in and out of it. 
It’s still considered safe as long as the car seat is installed correctly right?

We installed originally on the drivers side because statistics say that you are more likely to get hit on the passenger side than the drivers.  It’s a subconscious defensive driver thing.  But now we have two babies so it doesn’t really matter anymore

You need to read both the car seat manual and your vehicle manual to ensure your child is in the safest seat. I have a Jeep Wrangler and a Graco car seat. Both say placing the seat in the middle is the safest, because regardless of the side impact testing, there is less of an impact on the seat if it’s in the middle and you end up getting T-boned. However, there are conditions that would make the middle seat UNSAFE, like only having a lap belt without a LATCH option (for my specific car seat). It all depends but always make sure to read both manuals! 😁

Driver side is safest in an accident because it's human nature to protect yourself typically. But if you park on the street a lot, passenger side is better for getting baby in and out of the car.

Middle seat is typically recommended, but as long as your seat is installed correctly and your child is buckled in the right way, they should be jsut fine. We have a very large German Shepard who is in the car with me and my daughter often so putting her car seat in the middle doesn't work for us. She's always been directly behind the driver's seat where I can see her, allowing our dog to have the middle and passenger's seat to lay down.

That's where I have my nephew's car seat. When I have my baby I'm planning to put her infant car seat in the middle, but larger seats won't always fit there. The first time I had to install it I did go to the fire station to have them install it correctly as I wasn't sure how to. Obviously this isn't your first cat seat but if you're not sure it doesn't hurt to get free help

Left or right doesnt make one or the other safer. Being in the middle I heard makes it safe but it's weird trying to get the infact seat in or out or them in the middle. I put my daughter on the driver side because it's more convenient to get out the car then her. Now that there will be two one will have to be drive the other passenger. It's all about getting a very safe carseat and installing it the correct way.
