Gift? Bad kids!

Question

So if your kid say 10 was BAD, and I mean BAD. Would you buy him/her Christmas gifts? Disrespectful, lying, stealing, doesn’t follow directions (just to show some examples of how the year has gone).... not only at home but school and the sitters house as well. Now he/she knows Christmas is coming and has been good as of lately(for about a week) what would you do? 
How would you handle the holiday?

Well why is he/she acting up? Do they feel there is a favoritism toward their siblings or things for them are unfair? Are they lying because they'd rather take the risk between getting caught later but potentially getting away than owning up and having their parent blow up at them right there?
Kids usually have a reason for doing what they do. If he/she is learning to be deceptive or disobedient there's definately a reason (lack of attention, harsh parents, feeling unheard etc even trauma you may be unaware of like bullying or getting teased).
I don't celebrate Christmas and think it's a cruel holiday for everyone involved (thinking all the parents who can't afford elaborate gifts and their children then think they're not good enough because santa didn't bring anything or didn't bring what they most wanted etc). 
Don't use it as a tool to guilt your child. If he or she is so bad take them to behavioural therapy or take some parenting courses.

I’d do something they need and something to read.... like an empty room and a list of rules to abide by in order to have privileges.... 😂🤷‍♀️

Maybe he’d get a book or something, but even that would be me being extremely generous. More likely to not get anything. 
He’s probably behaving now with the idea that if he’s good for this short amount of time he’ll get what he wants.

Thats a negative thing to put a kid through. My parents did that to my older sister when she was a kid and she grew up resentful. Give them a good christmas.

I would do things like board games for the family or learning type things. Not anything big like iPads, tablets or the like.
