Do you have a family doctor? (read more)

Question

By that i mean, so you have a specific doctor you see for when you wanna try to conceive, or just regular checkups , physical exams, period talks etc?

We each have our pcp and I have an obgyn. Depending on your insurance and provider you may have to see a specialist for TTC.  I have a catholic provider and they are particular about birth control and ttc naturally.

I havent been to a PCP in a long time. I see my OBGYN when we were ttc and now for prenatal care. I’m not a fan of going to the dr to be honest. When I’m sick I try home remedies, and so far they’ve worked. My baby will have a pediatrician however and be there for all well and sick visits.

I have a family doctor and then obgyn for pregnancy and what not. I really only take my kids to the family doc but if my husband or I need to be seen we go to him.

I have a specific general family doctor that both my husband and I see and have formed a nice connection with over the last few years. When we have a child in the future, she’ll be our pediatrician as well  
I have a specific dermatologist that I travel 300 miles to see multiple times a year because ive formed a nice connection with her over the years 
And I’m currently trying to find an OBGYN I like so that I can form a connection with them long before TTC 
I think it’s important to have a steady relationship/foundation with your doctors. It makes you more comfortable, they become familiar, and there up to date and ‘in the know’ on your history, health, and current needs

You should really go to a gynecologist for that rather than family doctor. I know mine for sure did absolutely nothing to help me, and instead referred me to an expensive RE when in reality I just needed a caring gynecologist

I've had the same family doctor since I was born.  She's also my GYN and when my husband and I conceive a child,  she'll be my OB, too.

I have a family doctor and an obgyn. I’m not pregnant right now but I had some postpartum issues and I have to see my obgyn regularly.

Well I have my family (general) doctor and then I have my obgyn, but I see my obgyn way more just because the only issues I ever have are with my ovaries. (Not ttc), but I’ll be set when I one day am unless I move before then, then I’ll have to start all over ugh.
