Is this amount of pain during period normal?

I started my period yesterday, woke up with it actually, and was in immediate pain....back ache and cramps so bad i was doubled over in pain for about 2 hours than i finally got the strength to get the bathroom and i threw up like crazy. Everytime my cramps got bad, they came in waves, i would get sick to the point of throwing up, shaking, and passing out. Is this a normal amount of Period pain? It's pretty bad each month but this month truly feels like I'm dying :( my stomach also swelled like 3 times the size. The only relief i get is squatting in a boiling hot shower and letting the water hit my lower back and stomach
