When do drs start doing cervical checks ?

I’m 36 weeks and 2 days and my dr hasn’t done any cervical checks yet to see how dilated and effaced I am last time I went to the er they said I was 1/2 cm dilated and pretty thick but just wondering because I have contractions everyday even with me drinking 2gallons of water it’s so annoying so if anyone know when drs start doing cervical checks in the last trimester please let me know

My dr told me today that because cervical checks can cause labor he won’t check me until I get induced he usually starts checking at 38 weeks and that’s when I’ll be induced

My doctor starts them at 36 weeks & does one each week up until delivery.

Mine did one today at my 37week appt, but he asked if I wanted to first. He’s prob gonna do it next week at my 38 too, if I make it that long

I got mine last week and I was 37 weeks now I’m 38 and will continue to have one every week until I deliver

36 weeks and then weekly is their standard procedure at my OB. I’m at risk for preterm labor so my doc opted not to. 
You can likely request them to do them or not to do them. Doesn’t hurt to ask!

My dr will start this week at 36 weeks. She said she will do it every week past that unless i dont want her to. Also how do you drink 2 gallons of water daily?! Haha

Had mine done at 36 weeks along with my GBS test.  I’ll be 38 weeks this week- not sure if they will check me again.
