Baby getting burned??

Question

Has anyone gone through there little ones getting burned? My little one decided to put his hands between the oven and broiler and burned his fingers! I feel like the worst mother!!

Don’t beat yourself up! Think of it as a learning experience to be more alert. Babies get themselves into dangerous situations all the time, it doesn’t make you a bad parent!!

Mine grabbed my flat iron. It blistered then burst a few day’s later. I used dial antibacterial soap twice a day maybe three times. I would take the soap and lather it up in my hands then wet his hand in cool water and pat the bubbly lather on the site and use a brand new towel to pat it dry. At night I would BARELY  put a smear of Bacitracin on the site. Barely though cause you don’t want the baby to rub his eyes and put the meds in the eye. If the skin is bubbled there’s not much you can do till the skin bursts. If it’s bubbles long that’s great. The bubble is protecting and healing the sore underneath.  You could give him Childrens Tylenol for pain. I did bring my child into the doctor though. Although there was not much they could do anyway. I felt really bad too. It happens. It will heal

Honestly don’t panic about it. It’s scary thinking about how fast these things can happen but that’s just the problem! 
As for burns in general, I will always recommend fresh aloe Vera gel. We keep a plant in the kitchen for these occasions! If you can get one then it’s definitely worth it :) otherwise maybe apply a room-temp wet flannel to the burn for a little while to ease the swelling pain (cold water will help more with this but be weary depending on how bad the burn is as having cold will bring it to blister) and then just an antiseptic cream over the area a few times a day. Maybe try and cover it with something breathable like a mitten to avoid him getting at it while it’s in the itchy healing stage.
