There are no benefits to starting before 6 months, only risks. Babies also have to be developmentally ready for them, not just age.

Four months is a more old school recommendations. Most of the newest research (and most of the major health organizations across the world) now recommend waiting until six months. So that’s what we did.

The advice given has changed heaps over the years so that’s why there’s such a variation. The WHO (world health organisation) says 6 months so that’s what I’m going with.

Unless a mom has gone to medical school, they're not a doctor 🤷🏻‍♀️ just because they're doing it, doesn't mean it's okay to do. So I don't take moms' opinions over trained professionals. The AAP and the WHO recommend waiting until 6 months for many reasons so that's exactly what we did.

I waited till 6 months with both my kids. We just got baby food from the store (stage 1) they have all sorts of varieties so I picked up a mix of different veggies and fruits.
