Can I use Vick’s vapor rub on my 4 month old?

My 4 month old son has a stuffy nose and is having a hard time breathing. I’ve been using saline and a bulb syringe to try and get it clear but it’s not working as quick as I thought it would. So is Vick’s vapor rub safe for him?? Be just a little by his nose to see if it’ll help cause I know it helps me when my nose is stuffed up. Also any other solutions are welcome. My baby’s just miserable. Thanks in advance

You can use Baby Vick’s but not regular Vick’s.

I’ve heard that Vicks is dangerous for little ones when applied directly. We’ve used it to dissolve in hot water and place in his room etc but not put it into his skin.

Humidifiers work wonders! We put baby Vick’s on his feet and a little on his chest. At 6 months they told us it was ok. I would consult with doctor first.

Thank you all. I called his dr and they told me to put it on his feet with clean socks so it doesn’t get on his hands.

ok this is news to me, I have used it ob all 4 of my kids and they are all fine, no issues, on the feet and chest, plus baby 4 was tiny and it helped clear up her chest asap, if you are worried about the skin effect put it on top of the singlet only

They make Baby Vicks. Don’t use the one for adults.

Definitely not safe for children under 2. They do make a non medicated baby rub, but it’s more to calming, it won’t help much with congestion. 
You can try a Vick’s vaporizer or humidifier in baby’s room.

Consult your pediatrician.  I believe they make Vick’s for babies but even then it’s for older babies.  I would most definitely not put it right under their nose though.  My 16m old was recently sick and was having trouble breathing, my pediatrician suggested Vick’s on the bottom of his feet.  We did this for a couple nights and he got better - unsure if it was related to the Vick’s or not though.

I used hot water in a bowl and put Vicks in it it helped alot when my boy was little x
