Horseback riding while pregnant
I'd like to hear other opinions on this topic.
I've been riding horses since before I could walk. I've been actively competing since the age of 2. I'm now 26.
I train horses for a living, but have since slower way down on riding due to finding out I'm pregnant. I have limited myself greatly. I currently only drive horses, work them from the ground, ride them at a walk, unless they are a finished broke western horse then I may jog a few steps with them. I try to keep the gaits smooth and limit how fast I go.
I've known people who quit riding all together due to pregnancy and others who ride up until they pop. My Mom being one of them. She rode until she went into labor. That's actually how her labor started.
I'm interested to hear from others. What do you think about riding vs not riding?
Other equestrians, what did or are you doing about riding during your pregnancy?
