Can you have a irregular period cycle after the age of 16?

I had my period two almost three weeks ago yet today more blood is coming out of my body and I’m a little crampy.... idk what’s going on...😰

When I was 17 I was having my period every other month and when I would get it it’s be very heavy for 4 days then kind of just stop. I got on birth control and that helped.

mines always been like that!! i'm 40 now but when i was ur age mine was so bad clots  and all so heavy i couldn't even keep up with my pads ! mom had to take me to the gyno and put me on birth control and it stopped ! if u get on the depo shot it will stop ! but u will gain a lot of weight on it

I've always been irregular. Only thing that made it regular was birth control... At least until I switched to a method with the goal of stopping it all together
