Throat infection from teething
I posted this in First Time Moms also.
I had my son in February of thid year. When his first two teeth were coming in, he got a fever of 101, a lottle rash and was vomitting. His pediatrician said he had a tbroat infection and prescribed him an antibiotic. He's had four more teeth come in with no problem. Now, his bottom two right next to the front teeth, are coming in.
Last night he was perfectly fine, just a little fussy. This morning (Tuesday morning) he got up 2 hours earlier than usual and was whinier than normal. When i took his temperature, it was 100.4, so i called in to work just in case.
Around 12 it went down to 99.6 then at 3 it was at 102.7. I was able to get an appointment for him at 4, and they had said to go ahead and give him tylenol throughout the day as needed. When i got there at 4 and they checked it was about 101.4.
He hasnt had a runny nose, vomitting, diarrhea, rashes or coughing. No changes in diet, hasnt been around anyone sick recently, that we're aware of.
Doc looked him over and said he has a throat infection again, and said its caused by teething. Ive never heard of that before, but this is my first child and i dont remember my sister or mother saying much about all my nieces and nephews teething. We've got his antibiotic again that he has to take for 10 days but im curious how many others have had this?
