Child birth class

I’m currently 35 weeks and there is a child birthing class available at the hospital I’m going to deliver in on December 15. I’ve waited this long bc I don’t know the benefits of going to this type of class. A lot of people have told me it’s poitnless and now I’m having some people tell me to go. Something turning me off to the class is that’s it’s a one day class from 9am to 5pm. It’s a condensed class. Is this information really going to help me when I go into labor. Trying to decide the pros and cons. Any advice would be nice. TIA
