Visiting rights with baby??

Ok so has anyone ever heard that if the baby’s dad isn’t there in the child life within the 1st year that the dad doesn’t have any visitation rights ? I was told if I go for child support for my son he’s dad will no have visiting rights when he starts paying support since he wasn’t around or even bothered to check on him (which he knows how to get ahold of me) he has no rights..Anyone ever heard this??

No. That's not true. However it seems he isn't interested in parenting so that might continue. But regardless of if you put him in child support he can pretty much at any time file for visitation with his child unless his parental rights have been terminated. The longer he goes without seeing the kid, the less likely he will get much, but you never know.

You would have to file for abandonment. You can do that after 6 months of no contact from him I believe. But you should talk to a lawyer because here if you do that you can’t get child support. You have to leave visitation at least open on a schedule to receive it, and then go to court again after a year of child support to tell the judge he hasn’t tried to see the baby

You would still have to file for him not to have visitation or rights, especially if his name is on the legal documents like the birth certificate.
My daughters bio-mom hasn’t seen or spoken to her in a year (by her own choice) but in order for anything to be taken away for sure my SO will still have to file for it in court. 
If you don’t want your sons father to have visitation or rights then you should definitely start to file in court.
