Would you eat at a restaurant with this policy?
Taken from this article here.
A trial run of this policy is currently in place which may become permanent, depending on the outcome.
It will take customers’ phones and place them in a box. The kids (up to 14 years) of families who comply will eat for free. This is in a bid to “encourage people to engage more at the dinner table”
A spokesperson said “we've found giving families the chance to part with their devices for a mere couple of hours is a great way to bring them closer and embrace family time."
The decision comes after a nationwide study found as many as 72 percent of kids wish their parents would spend less time on their phones and more time talking to them.
**Note: during the trial the staff cannot force customers to participate, although it is heavily encouraged. There is no information on how this will be enforced, should it become permanent**
Poll question: would you eat at a restuarant with this policy in place, if it became permanent?
Bonus: do you think the trial will be successful?
