So this past year, I became a full time mom to my three year old stepson. He was two when I first met him but he had the same capabilities as a one year old. Now he is three and he still doesn’t understand questions and only some commands. When I ask him what his name is, he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know how to answer age questions or anything. I’m attempting to potty train but because he doesn’t know what I’m saying I feel as though I can’t potty train him. I’m just at the end of my rope and feel like I’m failing him. Any advice or parents in similar situations?

**Also, I’m 8 months pregnant and it’s getting to be really hard to change a 3 year olds pamper as I can’t lift him so I have to get on the floor and change him. Which is killer because I have sciatica. So PLEASE. HELP!
