34weeks midwife visit UK advice please

Went to see midwife today for 34 weeks check. Protein present in urine so sent off to the lab and when checking babies position she literally couldn't tell me and he was wriggling under her hands. One minute he was breech next he was transverse then head down then back again. This baby is all over the place and hasn't settled into head down position yet. She doesn't seem even slightest concerned that he's going to be in the wrong place if and when I go into labour and I'm thinking surly it's something she should be keeping an eye on as his favourite position for resting is transverse and by scans hes a big baby meaning before long there's not going to be the room to move? That aside has any one had protein and it all be alright after being sent to the lab? Granted I have had some swelling all over the last couple of days but BP is normal.
