Think I found a place!

Think I found an apartment! Only things is, I won't be moving until late April early May, but there is a wait list. I just started my second job and it'll be 6months once that time rolls around. Should I wait until then, in order to add that income or go ahead and try to get on the wait list to see what I'm qualified for???
