I have a friend that I work with who says “bye! Love you!” Each time she leaves for the day. And I always respond with “bye!”

Today when we all left she said her normal departure line to everyone else and said to me “bye, I won’t say I love you because I know you don’t like it.” (Not in a mean way, as nicely as it could be said) I just laughed and waved.

Anyway, I don’t in fact like it, because I don’t love her and I don’t want to pretend I do. I say I love you to my son and husband all day everyday, but friends and others I never say it to. Since I’m the odd one out at work I’m wondering if I’m the odd one out everywhere. Who do you say “I love you” to?
