Advice ?

My son has met his dad twice . He lives 24 hours away his family sends gifts once a year other then that him and them have no contact . My son is 5 and I have been raising him myself . Now I really don’t have any interest in child support or anything from that side of the family (they never tried to make an effort ) his dad has me blocked . He is on the birth certificate . I’m asking what’s the best way to go . Do I continue raising my boy without any court orders or should I be doing child support or making him give up his rights?
