We are having another boy!

We have a dilemma... I really would like to name this baby after my grandfather (baby’s great grandfather). He was the most positive and supportive male influence in my life. (August is his middle name) My father was emotionally unavailable through my whole childhood, and it has caused an anxiety even in my adulthood. He had made a 180 and is a different man now, but the damage has been done. I had to grow up too fast. I am the oldest of 7 girls, so I feel it’s only “fair” to name his grandson after him. (Ryan is his middle name) Problem is, my grandfather and my father did NOT get along. (Parents had me young and split soon after).

What would you go with? My mother’s side is against doing “Ryan” as a first name, and I don’t want any negativity with my child putting both names together... I just feel guilty because my father expects this child to be named after him!
