He is Always Watching: Chapter One

Christabel stretches as her alarm gose off at seven in the morning on the dot. She quickly shuts it off and sits up giving a slight yawn. "Oh why can't it be my day off?" she quietly says to her self. She mumbles lightly as she walks into her bathroom to start her morning routine.

Sliping her pink button up pajamas off of herself, and into her work uniform, which was a black button up shirt, black slacks, and of couse her name tag. She quickly brushes her teeth, and smiles slightly thinking about how Charlie the cook always has breakfast waiting for her as soon as she entered the building.

After brushing her teeth she quickly makes her bed. Walking back into the bathroom she brushes her hair and puts it into a quick ponytail and aplies her make up.

Christabel looks at the time, seven thirty. She grabs her phone, charger, wallet, and keys to her apartment. She closes her apartment door and rubs her face as she walks into the elevator. She pushes the lobby button and leans onto the wall.

The elevator only went down one floor before the doors opened, she tried to hide her blush as James steps into the elevator.

James has been her bestfriend since she had moved into the building four years ago. She remembered thier first encounter.

It was four years ago in December, Christabel looks at the huge building infront of her, taking a deep breath she looks at her watch, it was five in the afternoon, and the moving truck still hasn't arived. It should of been here over an hour ago!

She sits down and puts her face in her hands. It was getting dark and cold. Her jackets were in a box on that truck. Why didn't she just take a jacket just in case?

She sighs lightly when she feels a tap on her shoulder. "Excuse me? I think you could use this."

She looks up slowly from her hands to see a handsom man, he had light brown hair, dark brown eyes, with a blue zip up coat on. She notices he had a red zip up coat drapped over his arm, with two cups in a cup holder in one hand.

"I think you have the wrong person sir?" Christabel says as she blushes lightly.

He smiles gently and puts his hand out for her, "My name is James Salone, I've noticed you have been out here for some time. And at first I thought it was a ride you were waiting for but after a while it seemed like something else. So I thought I could get my extra coat and grab a couple of hot chocolates, then come see if you could use some help?" He helps her stand up.

She smiles, "Oh are you sure? I don't want to be a bother?"

"Im sure here," he gives her the red coat and she slips it on. He hands her one of the cups. "I hope you don't mind whip cream in your hot chocolate"

She smiles, "No not at all," she takes a drink. "This was really nice of you James, thank you"

He nods, "Not a problem, I never caught your name?"

"Oh its Christabel!" She quickly shakes his hand, "Sorry I have been waiting for a moving truck since four today" she puts a hand to her head.

James tilts his head, "Well the lobby man is really nice here,  if you want you can come wait in my apartment, and Ill ask him to tell me when a moving truck gets here so we don't freeze and after wards I can help you move everything"

Christabel's eyes widen, "Oh are you sure? Thats to much for me to ask,  don't you have plans today?"

"No today is my day off,  I was just going to watch a movie and eat. Maybe work out? But other wise no. And Im really sure, I honestly don't mind."

Christabel wanted to cry then and there. That day was hell for both of them. The only available room out of thirty floors was on the twenty fourth floor. They had to move box after box to the room, and then the very next day was furniture. But luckily James lived on the twenty third floor. A week later James had helped her get a job at the Cafe she worked at now.

"How are you today Christabel?" James ask interupting her thoughts.

"O-oh im good, and you?" she stutters as she straightened herself, "Any plans today?"

"Im going to do the usual work, and then go to the club," he opens his eyes and gently smiles at her. "What are your plans?"

James worked as an under cover cop, he worked everyday except on Friday, or when there was an emergency.

Christabel watches the numbers on the elevator droped, they were on the third floor.

"Oh you know just work, and then I might go grab something to eat and then go home. Just usual stuff."

She watches as he luaghs lightly and puts a hand in his pocket. "Well why don't you mix it up today and go to the club with me? You just work and work. Even on your day off, unless your hanging out with me."

Her eyes widen as she smirks at him, "Oh you think im boring? I mean sometimes I go to your apartment and we watch movies. Don't I?"

James luaghs lightly as the elevator doors open after they land on the lobby floor, they both walk out. "You know what I mean, listen text me when your off tonight, make us some food while your still at work ill pay. We will come back here eat. Then get ready and then party. Were both off tomorrow so a little drinking wont hurt. And if it makes you feel better we will take a cab there and back ok?"

She sighs lightly, he was right she dosn't really do anything. Maybe a little fun wouldn't hurt.

"Ok I get off at ten tonight just head on over when you get off at ten thirty right? And what do you want me to make?"

He nods, "Yes and I would like a cheeseburger with everything on it, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. Text me when food is ready ok? Do you want a ride or are you going to walk today?" He raises an eyebrow.

"I'll walk today, Its only a block thank you for the offer, see you tonight," she waves James off and walks out the doors
