14 months-eating habits
I can’t get him to stop. Here’s a little background: he’s had reflux issues since he was 3 weeks old but we are off all meds now and he is doing totally fine. He used to wake up twice a night for a bottle but we’ve finally stopped that. Every time we go to the doctors he’s totally average in the 50th ish percentile for height and weight. The doctors don’t seem worried at all and he’s definitely not over weight. During the day he seems insatiable. He will get up and have a sippy of milk (maybe 5 oz) and he eats an egg as well as some grapes tomatoes and a little cheese. He will get another 5 oz or so of milk at nap time and wake up to have lunch. He eats everything I pack for him every day (usually meat, veggie, potato, and tomato—tomatoes are his favorite. A little later he gets a whole pear, peach, or plum. Gets a little more milk for nap 2. When I pick him up at 3, he’s usually eating with the kiddos who get home from school. I’m talking a whole orange as well as some cheese whatever else that’s healthy the girls are eating. He throws a fit about leaving because he wants to stay and keep eating! We come home and he points to where his Cheerios and Life cereal are kept. I give him some to munch on while I get dinner ready. He eats dinner and is still eating when husband and I are already done and finished cleaning up. We usually shut him off after giving him a little bit of fruit again for dessert. Throughout the evening, he still keeps trying to eat...even trying to get his diaper bag where he knows we keep a cup of puffs. We try to get him to wait until close to bed and give him some cereal and milk to wind down. Anyone else have a baby like this? It’s been this way since we started him on purees at 5 months and he’s been on solids since 7 months. I’m at a loss and worried. I’m going to talk to the doctor but am wondering if anyone experiences something similar. Pictures to show he’s not 100 lbs... I’m very careful about what he eats but my husband and aunt who watches him also worry. I don’t want to starve him but tonight he could have just kept eating and eating if I let him. It seems to be getting worse.
