Christening for baby

What are your thoughts about Christening your child/baby?

I was raised in a conservative family but not religious. However, in grade school I studied Christianity and my parents didn’t mind as long as it wasn't too much.

My thoughts on Religion has changed throughout my adulthood and don't want to Baptise my baby. Though my fiance is open minded he says it's a tradition. I argued that a child is a person and should later decide on their own what religion to take on without interfering. We aren't even going to get married in church. So for me this whole thing makes no sense. I rarely visit churches and when I do is simply like that it stands for spirituality. But I have lost faith in what a priest does say and do!
