First Appointment??

I'm going to be 10 wk tomorrow and have my first appointment too!!! I'm so excited and slightly nervous. What should I expect for a first appointment? I know I won't be getting an ultrasound sadly because my insurance won't cover first trimester ultrasounds. What else goes on during a first appointment? Would they try to find the heartbeat using a fetal Doppler???

I had an appointment today at 9+6 and heard baby's heartbeat with the Doppler. My midwife warned me that for some women it's not possible that early but we heard it loud and clear. 😍

Answer

No they can’t find a heartbeat with a Doppler until after 12 weeks. They’ll ask you a ton of questions and then send you for a ton of bloodwork.
