metronidazole vaginal gel

So I got prescribed .75% of metronidazole vaginal gel just for BV. I’m supposed to put it up my vagina twice a day for five days. I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with it and drinking at the same time. There’s this annual party my school throws once a year and I really want to go and I also want to drink. I read people mainly have side effects with the pill and not the vaginal gel. I’m on my second day so really only halfway through. Anyways just wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with it?
