Do you recommend genetic testing of embryos?

I’m 28! We have been ttc 3 years! I have severe cervical stenosis of my cervix so we are doing our first round of ivf in January, my doctor mentioned genetic testing but didn’t feel it would be necessary! What do you ladies think? I’ve heard those embryos tend to have a higher chance? Not sure what to do!

We did it. I figured if we already paid so much out of pocket I rather spend then extra 3k and to have the best chance possible. 
We only had 4 embryos make it to freeze / testing.. we are currently “patiently” waiting for our results. (Another two weeks).  Even if all 4 come back normal I will be so happy knowing we are giving ourselves the best chance possible.  And if 0-3 come back abnormal I’ll be happy We didn’t play  “Russian roulette” with embryos.  
It’s a personal opinion and only you guys can decide.  It’s tough.  Weigh out the pros and cons.  That’s what we are currently doing.  We are trying to decide if we have 2 or less normal embryos do we do another retrieval now or go straight to FET.  We are both 34; tcc for 2.5 years, want 3 kids; have left over meds I could use and pgs testing credits to use.

I’m 31 and had 5 out of 6 blastocysts come back abnormal. I have 1 PGS normal embryo. I am so glad I did the testing otherwise I could’ve went through 5 failed transfers/miscarriages.

So we decided against it for a few reasons. Cost was 1. It's fairly expensive to test them. Our insurance covers the IVF cycle but not the testing. So we decided that even if this round failed, we could do another. If I were paying out of pocket, I might have considered it more. 2. If we were able to conceive naturally, we wouldn't be doing PGS testing anyways because we wouldn't have that option or ability. 3. This wasn't a planned reason but it became 1. So my eggs didn't make it to freeze. We did a fresh transfer of 1 but none of the others made it. If you get lots of eggs, the price goes down. It's like a group discount. But if I were having them test 1 here and 2 here it would have become extremely costly.

I’m 26 and we did pgs testing. I’m so glad we did! I could  not handle a miscarriage or mult failed transfers if it was something I could prevent. Also a lot of the reason someone doesn’t get pregnant is bc of chromosomal abnormalities. One of our embryos came back with Down syndrome and it was one of the highest grades embyros and would have been one of the first transferred. I would have never forgiven myself if I had a baby with life long healthy complications that I could have prevented. 
I personally think it’s one of the perks of ivf is that it’s one more thing you can do to ensure having a healthy baby 😊
Our first transfer worked with a pgs normal embryo. We were also able to find out the sex (even though we didn’t choose the sex we chose to find out when we graduated from our Clinic)

We did have all our embroys tested...we paid out of pocket and felt better about it. We got a lot of fertilized eggs and after testing some did come back genetically abnormal and 2 were mosaic so they werent sure. I am glad we did it, i would have been heartbroken if after all the money, shots, meds, time etc we had a miscarriage due to an abnormal embryo. It is not for everyone but for us it was rhe right move. I had just turned 29 when we did the retrival. It added more money but not enough to not be worth it for us. Our though was an extra $1000 for testing is cheaper than having to do another round of meds for a frozen transfer and if testing gave us a better chance, we should do it. We had unexplained infertility and had been trying to get pregnant for 4 years. We did a fresh transfer that didnt take but our first frozen transfer took amd I am now 33 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby:) Do what feels right for you, it is the only thing that will matter on transfer day...whether you did what you thought you should.

At 28, I probably would not have done it, esp if I never had a miscarriage. If you test negative for all your screenings (and your partner) I would pass on it for now. 
I had it done, but I’m 35 and have had 2 miscarriages. I 100% would do it again, but it’s not cheap. If I was under 30 I probably wouldn’t have done it.

I think you’re young enough that it the majority of your embryos will be “normal” so it really doesn’t matter much for you.

Following I’m in the say situation but my doctor said it was no need for me to have the testing done because I was young.
