Does anyone else out there do this?

I have had my period since I was 12 and have never been able to tell when I ovulate. I will turn 17 in January and still don’t know when I ovulate. I have never had any cramps unless I was on my period. I have had a really bad pain two years ago that was so bad I couldn’t move and afterwards I could standup straight for three hours. My mom said that most likely I have ovarian cysts. I know what ovulation is supposed to feel like but I have only experienced, how my mom describes it, a handful of times. Is it possible to ovulate and not have any pain? And does anyone else do this?
