Pros and cons of being induced?

Question

I am currently 35+1, baby and I are healthy although he has IUGR. My next scan and consultation is at 36+5 and I’ve been advised I’d possibly be given a date to be induced. 
I’m more excited than nervous, and I just wondered the pros and cons of being induced? Thank you

I don’t have any cons for being induced. Nothing but pros. I loved it, it went by smooth, and I hope to be induced for any future pregnancies. It’s also nice to know when the baby is coming and be prepared :) I slept thru it all until it was time to push. I was induced at 8 in the morning and had him at 10:48 at night.

I think you’ll get mixed answers on this some people had a great induction some had not so great inductions. I myself am one who had a great induction the thing for me that was a con were obviously the contractions since I was given drugs to make my body go into labor they are a bit more intense than if you’ve gone into labor on your own (so I was told). My only issue was my blood pressure spiked for whatever reason during labor but other wise everything was great and my son was born healthy.

Very positive induction experience! I could plan around when I would go into labor and didn’t have to labor at home. I was very comfortable and had an epidural as well, so the experience was smooth and positive for me. Obviously everyone is different though, but an induction for me took away some fear I had of labor.

I did not enjoy being induced because the contractions are more painful, but my water broke at 34 weeks so I don’t regret any of it. I think you should consider the induction though.

With my first 9 years ago I was induced and it was amazing I couldn’t complain but almost 2 weeks ago when I got induced I’m not even gonna lie it was horrible but that’s because my nurse didn’t do her job right. So as long as you have a team that knows what they are doing being induced is wonderful lady.
