Induction judgment...
I’m scheduled to be induced this Sunday evening - I’ll be 40 weeks. My doctors have decided that this is best due to a chronic illness that I need to start receiving treatments for again, and I can’t do so until the baby is born.
I’m just really struggling/upset with all of the criticism and judgment I’m getting from family, friends, acquaintances, etc. on being induced. It’s like they don’t care about my health and the potential side effects I could suffer from if I don’t receive my medication in time.
Would I love a natural birth? Absolutely! And I’m trying everything I feel is safe for the baby and I to make that happen. But if it doesn’t? Induction is what we’ve decided is best.
I guess I’m just floored at people’s ignorance and rude comments. “Well, you know natural is best?” - “It’s going to be a lot more painful for you.” - “More things could go wrong when you’re induced...”
I hope this isn’t happening to the other mom’s out there that have chosen to be induced (for whatever reason).
And does anyone have any encouragement on being induced? A feel good story for this now anxious momma? 😢
