Frustration w kids?

Question

Im such a horrible mom, sometimes i get so frustrated w my babies, i have a 2yr old, and a 11mth old. Id yell at them and I feel terrible. Im not like how i used to be when they were still newborns. How do i stop being so mean to them, how do i learn to be patient, and handle my frustration? I think im the only one like this to my own kids.

You are NOT alone! This was me yesterday! I yelled and then I cried because I felt so bad. I’m not sure your personal situation, but for me I have no family or friends nearby so sometimes I feel so overwhelmed and trapped. I’ve found being able to turn the TV on and put her in a pack n play while I shower helps, or I haven’t been able to pull the trigger but I found out if I really need it the daycare down the street will let you bring them in for a one day rate. So that’s an option. And once they can talk I will definitely find a trustworthy babysitter every once in awhile! Also if you can try and let them play outside for a minute. Also a lot of my frustration comes out when my plan for the day isn’t working out (“I JUST want to be able to watch this tv show/do these dishes/ cook dinner”) and if in the moment I could just surrender and let toddler-world just take over and play with her I think my life would be easier.

You definitely arent the only one. Kids are a lot of work and really know how to push our buttons. Maybe try to carve out some.time for yourself even a quiet shower so you can recharge.

Im the opposite- I was so frustrated and annoyed with my son as a newborn (I feel awful saying this but I never liked little babies and I still don’t not even my own) now that my son is 9 months Im really starting to enjoy him and I feel like I get a lot more out of our interactions! For any future children Im basically going to shove them off to a nanny until they are over 3 months- in my opinion they are blobs that just scream before 3 months

Girl, like the rest said! You aren’t alone. I have a 17 month old, and I swear she’s going through her terrible twos already! We’ve tried everything, I don’t know what to do, if I get on to her, she literally screams at me. Kids are butt holes.

Start reading some parenting books. Finding methods o dealing with the problems the children cause will give you better means than yelling and stressing yourself out
You just need some new tools in your toolbox!

You aren’t alone! I only have one 3 year old and I get so frustrated. I yell a lot and I feel bad. I lose patience very easily. I’m frustrated with myself because she’s not potty trained yet. My husband and I work 40+ hours a week and go to school so when we are home we are so tired and don’t want to deal with it. I beat myself up for it everyday.

Hell no you aren’t! I have a 4 year old and 1 year old twins. Sometimes they frustrate the hell out of me. When I get to that point I realize I need a second to myself in another room to regroup myself and understand that they are just little kids who have hard times expressing themselves and their needs. After that I can go back with a clear mind and have more patience for them.
