Its not the worse thing if it has to be done but I wouldnt take a sick kid out unless absolutely necessary. They need lots of rest so they can get better.

I had to take him to the doctor's today and also get milk for him I felt terrible we was waiting in a que for a taxi for 15 mins! But I kept feeling him and he felt nice and toasty went to docs as he just has a viral

My doc told me that when a child has a cough or congestion the cold can help open them up and help them breathe. I live in Ohio so I don’t think that it’s too cold. Both our kids play outside for at least 30 mins a day of its not raining and above 20 degrees. They are dressed appropriately. My 10 month old is usually in a stroller or being carried but my two year old plays with the dogs or something.

any type of sick, I try to make my babies warm and toasty / comfy.

Hmmmm.... so in general I try not to.  But keep in mind, I live in Southern California where 40-50 is REALLY cold, hahaha.
 
If I need to go out though (other night I took both boys for a walk because they were both fussy and crying...) I tend to bundle him up.  I’m talking layers of clothes, mittens, socks, and two WARM blankets on top of him, then a blanket covering the opening of the infant seat.  But that is me.  
 
Also, depends on the age.  I think under 6 months they have a hard time regulating their temperature?
