Being pressured to get a job
My hubby & I talked a while ago about me not working since he got a new (and very good paying job). This whole idea was his and I was down for it. We want to start a family and have been actively TTC. My hubby is absolutely fine with me not having a job.
My family & family friends on the other hand keep pressuring me to get a job. I’ve told them before that hubby and I discussed it and we came to the decision that I don’t need to have a job. They don’t know that we’re TTC (cause it’s no ones business) and the plan is for me to be a SAHM. I’m so excited honestly! I’ve always wanted to be able to stay home with my *future* babies. But my family keeps with the pressuring after countless times of explaining our decision. I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain. They always tell me “you need to have a career” “you can’t depend on him” yada yada. Like I get it, it’s 2018 girl power! Woohoo be a girl boss! Blahh. Not everyone wants that. Some of us do want to take care of the house and raise the kids at home full-time.
It’s just frustrating and I feel like I’m going to snap next time someone says I need to get a job.
