Okay so me and my boyfriend have been together for four months (five months on the nineteenth). We have been having the conversation about sex and wanting to do it soon. In preparation I have taken the drop shot and we would obviously use condoms. I am 16 and he is 17. We are both virgins and have been each other’s first kiss etc. I am completely comfortable going this extra step with him and I believe I am ready. I just wanted opinions from others to see if anyone thinks I’m too young? Or unprepared? I do love him and I am comfortable with him being the person I loose it to. I just wanted some insight from people who have already had sex lol. Maybe leave your first time stories below to help out?

Personally if you say your ready I’d go for it, my first time was good I don’t regret it at all best experience ever I wasn’t in a relationship with the lad but it just happened and was unexpected things lead onto another really but I felt so comfortable with this lad and confident and I think that’s important to feel that way I’ve known the lad for ages so I don’t think it really mattered, I think your prepared from what you’ve said and get some condoms too! Just make sure your relaxed and just go with it as he won’t judge! I was so awkward and I didn’t need to be he kept saying it was fine I don’t need to be and I was nervous as he was my first but at the end of it it was such a great experience for me, I was 17 when I lost my virginity and I’m nearly 18 now, do lots of foreplay too also try and buy some lube as it’ll feel much better, I hope this helps :)

Hiii👋. So I would personally wait. I waited until I was 18 with someone who I thought I loved and loved me back. He was 21 at the time. It’s super awkward at first and very uncomfortable. It’s not gonna be romantic like the movies. The one thing that you have on your side is that it will be both of your first times so you don’t have to pretend that you know what your doing. On the other hand after I lost my virginity I felt dirty. Don’t get me wrong sex feels amazing and is a beautiful experience, and with the right person can really make you feel liberating but it’s also an emotional connection with someone. It could potentially change the dynamic of you guys relationship. I can’t imagine my thought process if I would have lost my virginity at 16. Sex is something that you really need to be mature doing. So I would definitely think long and hard that this is what you want to do. I’m 25 and still wish I waited because of how much sex complicated things. But in the long run, only you can decided when your ready.

It sounds like you’re prepared.  This is what I’ll say: will you regret it if you break up?  If yes, don’t do it.  What will you do if you did become pregnant?  You should always talk about this when you have sexual relations with someone even though I know most people don’t.
Also, don’t expect it to be romantic or amazing.  At best it will be okay.  At worst you’ll be bleeding and crying in pain (that was me 😂😭).
