HSV-1 Valtrex Question

Have any of your OB's prescribed Valtrex for you to take the last few weeks? When they did my initial blood work, it showed I had HSV-1. My doctor called it the "cold sore virus". I know you can still have HSV-1 on your genitals but she never actually said I did. I've never had a cold sore of any kind in any place. So I'm not exactly sure why I was prescribed it. Maybe just a precautionary thing? Obviously I should have asked my doctor but I didn't have time to even think to ask when she left the room lol. I'll definitely be asking next week. Just wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience. It just made me feel weird lol.
